HerBusiness

If you are feeling...

  • Overwhelmed?
  • "Scattered" or "Swamped"?
  • Like you have TOO Many Things on the To-Do List
  • Confused by all the options and "Bright Shiny Objects."

Or, if you're:

  • Wondering which strategy to put your energy into next
  • Laying awake at night second-guessing yourself or just flat-out feeling stressed and confused?
  • Looking at all the parts of your business and thinking, "there's not enough of me to go around?"

… what we're talking about in this episode of the HerBusiness podcast ends that turmoil and uncertainty.

Because in this episode, we'll zone into five essential things you should focus on when you find yourself unfocused or overwhelmed.

By the end of this episode, you'll have some specific things to work on and a few resources I've created that will help you along the way.

While simple, the five steps we'll cover can be challenging. It's a mind shift to start thinking strategically about your business.

These five steps help you understand where to focus and feel like you have ample time to do the right things and the things that matter instead of racing around trying to do everything and burning yourself out.

Here’s a sneak peek.

1. Set Your Vision - Where are you headed in the next 12 months?

2. Create Your Plan - How will you get to that Big Kahuna 12-month vision? What projects will you put on your schedule that will directly lead to your 12-month Vision, and what can you remove because it is a distraction?

3. Master Your Message - Create and refine your Connection Statement® and use it to open doors of opportunity for yourself.

4. Simplify Your Marketing Plan - - how will you attract, convert and keep more of your ideal clients? I encourage you to create your one-page plan. It makes thinking about your marketing so much easier.

5. Choose Your Growth Zones. What business area is most important for you to focus on right now?

I’ve included links below to resources that can really help. And, for more personalised support and coaching and access to an incredible community of other women business owners, request your invitation to join us inside the HerBusiness Network.

Right now, inside the HerBusiness Network, we are focused on planning. Our members are all working on their 2023 plans.

And we’re running everything from all-day planning days to 3-hour online workshops. We’ve also curated hundreds of dollars in resources for members to read, listen to, watch webinars, and complete worksheets.

We’ve also created a popular 2023 Planner Kit with beautiful 2023 mega planners and our popular “Planning Day” guidelines.

Why are we so fanatical about planning?

The ability to create a plan and then work to it is one of the most fundamental secrets to the success of any project or venture.

It doesn’t mean everything always goes to plan ☺, but I’ve always found HAVING a plan got me closer to the outcome I wanted than NOT having a plan.

Having a business plan also helps you confirm your business model is viable. That is, your business is structured in a way that will make it profitable.

In This Episode You’ll Hear:

-> Why a FEW marketing campaigns each year is all you need to attract all the potential clients you want
-> How knowing what you want people to buy FIRST leads to more buyers.
-> The power of starting with the end in mind when setting dates for your 2023 schedule
-> How to keep more clients coming back and referring you to their friends
-> The MAIN way you will ATTRACT your ideal clients
-> How we structure our year at HerBusiness so that we build momentum through the year, and how you can too
-> And a whole lot more

Have you ever set a big goal that scared you? One that you KNEW you’d have to put a lot of time, effort and sweat into? One that you didn’t know you’d succeed with?

Listen to Hear:

-> How to fit big goals into an already-full schedule

You’re heading off on vacation.

You’re cramming to get things done before you go.

For good measure, you check out the wifi speed in your hotel room, and you pack your laptop.

Just. In. Case.

But should you ‘unplug’ while you’re away?

Or does it make more sense to fit some work in during your vacation?

Many business owners say it’s difficult to detach from work when they’re supposed to be relaxing, and that’s true for me.

Even in Vacation Mode, I cannot help but develop marketing strategies and brainstorm new ideas while lying on the beach or running in a new city.

I personally rarely unplug totally.

But I also no longer get down on myself for not being totally unplugged.

Whether I have the iPad ad the beach under an umbrella, or I pull up my computer poolside to write some copy… I don’t beat myself up.

I know it’s part of my process and that I create some of my best content and do my best planning when I mix up rest and relaxation with some brainstorming and work.

We had a vibrant conversation on our Facebook Page and across all our social networks when I recently shared my thoughts about unplugging with our HerBusiness community.

In this episode, I share some of our member strategies and my top six tips for balancing being away with staying on track with your business plans and goals.

Listen to Hear:

-> What to do if you can’t totally ‘unplug’ without getting behind on projects

-> The parameters that I set myself to reward myself and manage a balance between work and play while I’m away

-> How I pre-plan my vacation, so there is little for me to do while I’m travelling.

-> Why taking time to unwind will take the pressure off from the get-go.

-> The ‘unplugging’ hack that enriches your vacation experience and gives you a much-needed break

-> How to communicate that you’ll be away, so you don’t return to a crazy-full email inbox.

-> The only ‘should’ that matters as you manage your vacation/work balance.

I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to step away from my business every once in a while to get that headspace that allows me to dream bigger and think differently.

I’d love you to join me to give yourself the time and space to dream, envision, plan, reset and REACH into a bigger, more fulfilling, more aligned and authentic future filled with all the possibilities of your heart’s desire.

Ready for a business breakthrough?

Sometimes we may not feel ready for a breakthrough. Maybe we don't feel confident. We don't have enough information. We don't have all the skills. We don't know the final outcome if things change in our world, which can be a bit scary.

And often, we're sitting on this precipice of wanting to move forward but thinking, "Oh my gosh. I don't know if I can do that big scary thing that I really want to do."

When we think about our breakthroughs, here's what I want you to know.

The only reason to have a breakthrough is to get to the other side of where you are now. And that applies to any part of your life and business.

You have to go through the experience to get to the other side.

So, when I look back at some of the significant breakthroughs I've had in my business over the last 27 years, I notice a pattern.

Time and time again, my business breakthroughs would happen when I said yes to an invitation.

In this episode, I share some of my biggest breakthroughs over the last 27 years.

Listen to Hear:

-> How the 26-year-old me was ‘saved’ by saying yes to a mentor’s invitation to take a 16-day business training. (Woah! It blew my mind.)

-> The night that sharing stories, beer and peanuts in a Singapore bar turned into a magical business relationship.

-> How to recognise invitations to ‘level up’ that you want to act on (and which ones to ignore).

-> The three steps to business breakthroughs and the correct (and most lucrative) order to take these steps.

-> How to act on your hunches even when facing fear head-on.

-> The power of pausing BEFORE you take action.

-> The types of business visions that will help you avoid playing small.

-> What to do next to take your business to its next business breakthrough.

I just returned from spending a week attending the Business Mastermind I belong to. It was a powerful time to evaluate my business and look at what is working and what needs a different or fresh approach.

In this episode, I’m sharing five of the most important questions you could be asking yourself to get more clarity, focus on your business, and fine-tune your business model and marketing.

Listen to Hear:

  • Why being clear on the ways you’re getting people into your world takes the pressure down and saves you time and energy.
  • How choosing what you want people to buy first gets prospects buying faster and reduces the amount of marketing you need.
  • Why asking for the sale is an essential and ACTIVE part of success in your business.
  • How to identify and eliminate the bottlenecks that are stopping you from reaching your goals.
  • What to do next to take your business to the next level.

How can you create an audience of buyers on social media - without buying expensive ads?

In this episode, I share a training I recently did for our HerBusiness community.

I give you four things you can do NOW to start growing a profitable audience on social media without spending money on ads and even if, up until now, you haven’t been able to turn many of your followers into buyers.

I think you’ll find this four-part process really easy to implement. While it’s not simple, it’s a formula that our HerBusiness Network Members use daily to get new clients and use social media more strategically.

Because who has time to spend a lot of time posting and going live and sharing… if it’s not going to lead people to become customers, eventually?
Plus, I will share how you can land your next client next week when you join me for our fabulous “Get New Clients” Coaching program.

In this episode, you’ll discover:

  • How to ‘show up’ so that your ideal clients know that you are the right solution for the challenge they are experiencing and the solution they are seeking
  • Why knowing and understanding your ideal client deeply is an essential step in turning followers, readers, subscribers and prospects into buyers.
  • The four things you MUST say when you introduce yourself (in person, in your emails, on your website, on social platforms) to instantly create a connection with your ideal clients so that they want to buy from you
  • Why you’re missing out on sales and not getting people saying “YES”
  • Go from feeling uncomfortable asking for the sale to effortlessly owning your value

Getting new clients often starts with Showing Up.

You're visible when you're showing up, putting your hand up for things, and saying yes to opportunities.

SHOWING UP is about knowing what your GOALS and VISION are - where the goalposts are.

That means you KNOW HOW TO POSITION YOURSELF and explain what you do in a way that demonstrates how you help people.

This means you know who YOUR IDEAL CLIENT is.

You're clear on their pain points and HOW YOU HELP resolve them.

And you have a way that you help them that GETS RESULTS.

In addition, you're prepared to invest in getting to know others and building rapport and how you can help them.

And you get in the game with an OPEN MINDSET, open to OPPORTUNITIES and COLLABORATION.

So, how do you get there?

You have a PLAN, and an intention for the RESULTS YOU WANT to get.

You're clear on your strengths and what you bring to the situation.

And you show up prepared.

But, SHOWING UP isn't always easy, even for the most outgoing women.

SHOWING UP CONSISTENTLY can be tricky, too, when we have so many competing demands.

You'll enjoy this episode if you want to:

  • Move from feeling isolated to feeling connected
  • Feel like you're shouting into a vacuum any time you want to promote your products or services
  • Want to finally feel comfortable that you have value to offer and that your ideal clients are waiting for you to show up
  • Go from feeling uncomfortable to feeling like there's always a friend in the room when you are at networking events

To grow your business, you have to stop being the one making every business decision. Making ALL the decisions is exhausting.

And if you've ever gotten to the end of the day and thought… "Oh… I can't even decide what I want for dinner. Someone just feed me, please! And bring me a glass of wine while you're at it."… you might be suffering from decision fatigue.

Being stuck making all the decisions is a common pain point for small business owners (especially if you're a solopreneur). You stop being the one who has to make EVERY SINGLE DECISION by putting the right systems and processes in place for your marketing, planning, your team, and more.

Inside of HerBusiness, we have a framework called the HerBusiness Growth Zones®. It's a framework that helps you focus on what will help your business grow and succeed. And, it is essential to go from being a solopreneur to growing a small business and then on to being an entrepreneur with a growing and scalable business.

We've used these 8 Growth Zones as the basis for our business success. They are also the foundation for our mentoring programs, which we've been running since 1998. So we know they work.

One of those Growth Zones is PEOPLE.

The People Growth Zone incorporates how you hire people, train them, motivate them and even decide when it's the right time to grow or shrink your team.

It also relates to your extended team - consultants, designers, copywriters - your bookkeeper - all the people that support you in getting things done and whom you need to lead and motivate. And you may have experienced some "people" challenges in your business.

Either not having enough people, so you keep getting pulled into doing the low-level work, or not feeling like you can afford people, or not sure how to train them. Or perhaps you are on the brink of hiring a team and want to know how to avoid the heartache and expense that can come when you don't get this right.

Regardless, changing how you think about decisions, what you do (and what you don't) decide and your mindset around getting others to help make decisions is the core of this episode.

Because you can't do everything yourself. Not if you want to grow a sustainable, profitable business.

You'll enjoy this episode if you want to:

  • Stop doing everything yourself
  • Move out of the 'technician' role (where you do everything) to the manager or leader role
  • Spend more time working ON your business than IN your business
  • Stop being exhausted from decision fatigue
  • Have time to do some of the things you don't currently have time for because you're so busy

It’s a VERY good day when a business owner you’ve been cheering on hits that magical 6-figure mark!

And naturopath and menopause expert Angela Counsel has an AMAZING story about her journey to that awesome milestone (including how she almost gave up right before she had her BIGGEST breakthrough!).

When Angela Counsel joined the HerBusiness Network, she gave herself and her new business “one year.” She was, in her words, going to either “fold or fly.”

At the time, she struggled to make even $10,000 - $20,000 revenue per year selling her courses aimed at helping women thrive in Menopause. When the opportunity to take part in the 30-Day Mastermind Experience program came up, she grabbed it with both hands…

During those 30 days, she got her marketing strategy dialled in and had a BIG a-ha! about a big mistake she was making with her approach.

Based on those solid foundations, she went on to transform her results, filling her high-dollar embrace program and hitting that magical $100,000 milestone!

Angela completely overhauled her business and marketing approach to have a massive breakthrough with an EXISTING program she had that wasn’t performing. And the results were truly incredible. She went from getting 3 or 4 people each time she ran the program to 40 people!

It was a total TRANSFORMATION and a real thrill to see her do so well.

In this episode, we speak with Angela and discover:

  • How Angela blew past her goal to reach 1,000 women to grow an email list of 7,000
  • What she’s outsourcing so that she can focus on her clients.
  • Angela's shift from ‘chasing everything’ to doing things ‘with a purpose’.
  • The ‘Big Kahuna’ that is keeping Angela’s eye on the prize and allowing her to work less
  • How traditional networking events were keeping Angela’s business connections small
  • The collaborations that are helping Angela expand her reach to more and more ideal clients

In this episode of the HerBusiness podcast, I share with you how to discover WHO your IDEAL Client is so that you can easily find MORE ideal clients just like them and know exactly where to look for them and have them buy from you sooner.

Because now you finally feel clear and confident about what products and services to offer and who you serve.

EVERYTHING in your business becomes clearer and more focused when you know who your Ideal Client is.

It helps you answer one of THE MOST important questions you will ever ask in your Business which is:

“How do I get MORE clients?”

Discovering who your IDEAL Client is STARTS with CHOOSING your IDEAL Client.

Yep, getting clear on WHO you want to work with and who you don’t.

Because while working with the wrong clients may not be life-threatening, it can make you pretty miserable!

And I’m going to take you through that process in today’s episode so that you can channel your time and focus on your ideal clients.

Even if you’ve been in Business for a while and you ALREADY have a fair idea of who your perfect customer is, this process will still benefit you.

In this podcast, I will also share the universal process every one of your IDEAL clients goes through when thinking about buying from you… and how you can use that inside knowledge to ensure MORE people buy from you MORE often.

Once you know this universal process that everyone goes through whenever they buy ANYTHING, you’ll have this knowledge FOR LIFE, and you can apply it again and again.

It’s like seeing inside your customer’s mind.

It’s such an essential piece of the puzzle to have a marketing strategy that works.

It’s like someone has already given you the answers to an exam or revealed the secret code to a puzzle. And it puts you SO far ahead.

Because when you can get a repeatable, reliable marketing system in place, you have the cornerstone of your IDEAL Business…

Because regular clients mean regular income, you can stop the stress of having up and down lumpy cash flow - that pattern of good months and bad months that we so often experience as small business owners.

AND you have a solid financial base which means you can make confident decisions on things like…

  • How and when to get some support and grow your team
  • When to step back a little and not work so hard
  • or whether you will expand into that new office or buy that extra piece of equipment

And a thousand other decisions become EASIER and CLEARER because you’ve got that regular, reliable income coming in day in and day out.

So, to recap… I’ll show you how to get clear on your IDEAL Client AND crack the code on the buying process every single one of your customers goes through when thinking about buying from you…

I’m sure you’ll agree that trying to grow a successful business isn’t as simple as some people make it seem.

Running a business doesn’t feel ideal AT ALL most of the time.

On any given day, you might need to deal with...

  • Getting the right team and support around you
  • Juggling finances
  • Creating Systems
  • Making Decisions about Technology

Then there’s. Planning - How do you find the time to get a plan together…

And of course, the BIG ONE - Marketing - finding clients, clarifying your message, knowing what content to send to who and when - so many things to focus on

Exhausted yet? It’s a lot, right?

That’s really why I developed the IDEAL Business System. Because I saw so many women become completely side-tracked while trying to grow their business and create the lifestyles they wanted.

If you find yourself frequently cutting your prices, accepting lower fees, or spending a lot more time delivering a service than you’d planned… this episode is for you.

If you find yourself frequently cutting your prices, accepting lower fees, or spending a whole lot more time delivering a service than you’d planned… this episode is for you.

When you find yourself overdelivering, again and again, you can start to feel resentful because you’re putting in way too much time and effort for what you’re getting in return.

In this episode of the HerBusiness Podcast, we look at:

  • How to charge your worth confidently.
  • What to do if you find it easier to offer your ‘free stuff’ than to ask people to buy
  • How to stay ‘generous’ while you increase your prices
  • Why stuffing ‘more’ into your offers could be driving clients away
  • How to stop exchanging time for money (and what to do instead)
  • The problem with the ‘hourly rate’ business model
  • The big mistake I made for years that cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars
  • How much value to give in your free Facebook Groups, challenges and other ‘free’ promotions (and what to hold back)

As business owners, we have an ongoing need to upskill and grow our knowledge.

How we market our business changes.

New technology comes along that makes the old way of doing things obsolete.

Trends change and evolve.

What worked yesterday, no longer works and so we need to grow and learn and implement new strategies.

But when should you spend money on conferences, retreats, courses and other business education?

And which options will give you the best return on investment' for your time, effort, dollars and energy?

If you're wondering whether you should be investing more in your education…

Or, if you've been buying "all the things" but not seeing progress then remember this:

The best reason to spend money on conferences, courses, and retreats is to get new knowledge to improve your life or business.

But building your knowledge and skills is not about overlearning and buying "all the courses".

It's about learning, implementing, and getting results.

If you have several programs (courses, books, webinars) that you are not using, know that the next course or program may not be the silver bullet.

Because you want to get the education that is going to lead you closer to your ideal business.

You may not need to know how to build a course, or start a podcast, or do an online challenge.

Maybe you need a course that shows you have to create a solid plan for your marketing over the next 12 months. Or, how to really understand your finances so that you next financial year is better than the last.

Ideally, your investment in conferences, courses etc., should move you forward and move your business forward.

YOU are your best investment.

So investing in your business education is always a good idea IF it is keeping you on the path to your ideal business and not being a distraction.

The right business education can help to:

  1. Develop essential new skills — like how to automate your marketing, create a budget or create a lead magnet and all the other things that we need to know as business owners. Right now, inside the HerBusiness Network, we are focused on the topic of Money. All month we're providing members with free training on budgets, money mindset and how to raise prices and charge more without losing customers. These are all essential skills for growing a business.
  2. Open your mind to growth opportunities — The right investment will help you make big mental shifts. Like getting the confidence to go from being a solopreneur to growing and scaling a team. Or going from feeling stuck in your business to having momentum, a clear vision and focus, and innovating in your business.
  3. Inspire and motivate you — For example, investing in books, courses or other training where successful business owners take you behind the scenes of their journey, struggles, processes, and breakthroughs can boost your belief in yourself and give you the impetus to take forward action.

These three benefits are excellent ROI (return on investment) in the time and energy you spend on education.

But, there is a more significant benefit.

It's what I call RETURN ON LEARNING.

In this episode of the HerBusiness podcast, I give you:

  • The four best ways to get "Return On Learning".
  • The conference that turned our business into a market leader and saved us hundreds of thousands of dollars in marketing expenses
  • The role a mentor can play in your business success, and why I've always had mentors.
  • The communities and networks that are worth spending money with
  • When to hire experts and how to use their intellectual property and systems to fuel your business growth
  • How "Learning from Doing" helps you get unstuck and fast-track the return of your learning investment.
  • Why YOU are your best investment.

Right now, you could be so close to breaking through in your business.

You may only be missing a few pieces of the puzzle and my goal is to help you find those missing pieces.

Maybe you're just getting started in your business.

Working hard to get a new business off the ground can be really overwhelming and knowing exactly where to put your energy so that things move forward can be challenging, especially when you feel like you're being pulled in a thousand different directions.

Or, if you've been in business for a while, maybe you've had some growth, but now things have slowed down and you've seen the results flatten out, or maybe even go backwards.

You might feel like you've lost your mojo. And the momentum you used to have is gone. And that can leave you feeling stuck, frustrated, not to mention anxious, not sure what to do next, to turn things around, or perhaps you've got the opposite problem.

Or maybe your situation is that you've experienced some rapid growth in your business. Things have really taken off and while that's been great, it's created a ton of new challenges that have left you struggling to keep up hiring new team members, juggling cash flow, and working long hours that can all take its toll and put your continued growth at risk. Unless you can figure out a way to manage it.

If any of those situations ring true for you, you're not alone. I meet women all the time, all over the world who tell me that they have similar challenges. And over the past 27 years of being in business, I can say that I've experienced each of them, myself, at least one time or another.

As a business owner, you can feel like you’re in a rut when there are so many demands competing for your attention, or you feel like you’ve hit a place where you’re stuck, and what worked just isn’t working anymore.

In this episode, I’ll show you:

  • The ‘mantra’ my mentor, Robert Kiyosaki, instilled in me about doing business differently
  • The mistake that might be keeping your business small
  • How to ‘let go more’ without losing control
  • Why burnout is inevitable if you don’t start to do things differently
  • Why running your busines as a ‘lone ranger’ is an outdated idea
  • How Stephen Covey’s quote: “The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing” helps you prioritise and focus on what really matters
  • How to know if you can afford to get extra support in your business
  • How taking action helps you escape the rut
  • Why creating the space and time to plan is an underutilised game-changer for your business
  • And much more.

Stu McLaren is one of my favourite people in the world.

He has helped more people than anybody to start, launch and grow membership businesses.

A membership gives you a recurring revenue stream and a more predictable cash flow - which can make a big difference to the value of your business and how confident you feel about your bank account will look from month to month.

When you know where your next dollar is coming from, YOU experience fewer "headaches", and less stress, and you can sleep soundly at night knowing that you'll be again and again every month.

Stu McLaren is the creator of the Membership Experience, and he is my guest today.

In this interview, we dive into:

  • The revenue model that Zoom, Netflix and Disney use that solopreneurs and small businesses owners worldwide are now ALSO using to create highly profitable businesses.
  • Why membership is a way to future-proof your business against fluctuations in the economy.
  • Why you don't need to have a popular website, a big email list OR a social media following to have a successful membership.
  • The RISKIEST thing you can do right now in your business.
  • And how to join Stu's free workshop: "Turn What You Already Know, Love, And Do Into A Profitable Membership.

I know you’ll love Stu's enthusiasm, infectious personality, and incredible smarts.

"Turn What You Already Know, Love, And Do Into A Profitable Membership”

When we think about making progress in business, we are often asked to set a vision, set our sights forward, and look ahead at what we want and what we can create in the future.

But, what if the better and faster way to make progress is to look backward?

Today I want to share with you the counter-intuitive way to make progress. This way creates a more straightforward path for you, accelerates your forward momentum, and prevents you from repeating past mistakes.

In this episode, I’ll show you:

  • Four questions to ask to become more aware of the current reality of your business (This will uncover what you love and what is keeping you stuck.)
  • How looking back at the road you’ve travelled helps you make big leaps forward
  • The powerful five-part REACH process for creating more of what you want in your business and your life.
  • How to stop seeing life and business through a ‘distorted’ lens.
  • The antidote to shrunken dreams. What to do if your business and your confidence have taken a hit over the last two years.
  • A pathway to post-pandemic growth and prosperity.
  • Why your past does not predict your future
  • How to overcome upper-limit thinking that is keeping you from realising your heart’s desire.
  • And much more.

It can be the first thing you think about in the morning and the last thing on your mind before you go to bed. Whether things are going great or not so well… running a business can often feel “all-consuming”.

Then squeeze in all the other commitments you have on top of that...

You can be forgiven for feeling like there’s very little space for YOU.

But (and here’s something I’ve had to learn from experience) the very thing that determines the level of success your business can reach is… YOU.

There is something very specific that YOU can do now to start to see more success and growth.

It starts with taking time AWAY from your business and is one of the most important things you can do to succeed.

In this episode, I’ll show you...

  • How taking time away from your business could be the best way for you to have more success, even if right now you’re scrambling to get things done in all the hours you’re already putting into the business
  • Why one of the BEST investments I’ve ever made is finding ways I can take myself out of working IN my business so I can get the space to work ON my business… and that begins with resetting, recharging and re-imagining what’s next.
  • What to do if you are at a crossroads and really needing some direction in your business.
  • How moving at high-speed (ad sometimes with some chaos) toward our goals, to that next big thing on the horizon, without stopping to evaluate could lead us to a destination that we don’t want
  • How women like you are finding they are having their best year ever, after actually getting away from the day to day of their business

What I’ve found coaching women for over 26 years is that the mistake business owners make over and over again is that they are too general in three business areas. Unfortunately, being too general moves you in the opposite direction to your goals of more clients and a more profitable business.

What are three specific focus areas that can help your sales go up and the pressure down?

That’s what we cover in this episode.

When you get specific about these three areas, you make more sales, and the pressure comes down, reducing the overwhelm and stress of running a business — which is a great thing.

So, let’s dive into these three areas:

  1. Your ideal client — the customers you love to work with and that you are best suited to help
  2. Your plan — what you DO in your business on a daily, weekly, monthly etc. basis that keeps you focused and moving towards your goals
  3. Your message — how you describe what you do in a way that compels people to want to do business with you, refer you and help you grow your business.

You’ll hear how being specific about your ideal client, your plan and your message helps you reach more people and get new clients while reducing the overwhelm and feeling like you’re spinning plates and not keeping up.

And you’ll hear about the one thing we got specific about that made us stronger and more profitable as a business.

Do you ever feel like your business COULD grow if only you would stop doing ALL the things?

In today's episode, you'll meet HerBusiness Network member Julia Watts.

Julia is the CEO of Australia's Leading Pattern Making Business — Sample Room.

She has been part of our network for over a year and recently joined our Marketing Success Mastermind.

Julia has a sizeable business that she's been growing consistently over many years.

In this interview, she takes us through the trajectory of:

  • Starting
  • Growing
  • Plateauing
  • Scaling

… her business from zero to a seven-figure business.

She also talks us through the mental shifts she took to step into the CEO role and let go of the tasks that kept her busy with unimportant work.

You'll hear Julia explain that while she's not afraid of setting and hitting financial goals, letting go of roles that she'd outgrown in her business proved a little more challenging than she thought.

You'll see why even if they're wearing all the hats at the moment and they're feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, you too can start to let go and thrive in your business.

Ready to grow and scale YOUR six or 7-figure business?

The HerBusiness Network is currently accepting new members. But only for the next few days.

  • Hey there, If right now:

    • You feel like you're a little bit away from your financial goals
    • You've been knocking on the door of that six-figure business (but it seems like no-ones home)
    • You've been at six figures for a while, and you haven't quite worked out how to get to the next level or sustainably run your business.

Then you're going to enjoy this episode.

I walk you through the three-step roadmap for finally having breakthrough growth in your business — without burnout or stress.

Each stage of business requires a different area of focus if you want to create a healthy foundation of success.

You need to know WHAT to focus on to maximise momentum in the short-term and set yourself up for the long-term.

This episode is a must-listen episode for you if you want to:

    • Stop "throwing a bunch of spaghetti at the wall" hoping something will stick and instead know where to focus and what to do next.
    • Get out of working IN the business so much so that you can work ON a clear plan to grow your ideal business.
    • Grow a business that's thriving. That feels easy and light. One where you are not overwhelmed, but instead, you feel full of joy for what you're doing. One where you're not burned out, but you're in a state of flow.
    • Go from feeling confused about how to do more (when you have NO time left to do more) to having an abundance of time for the right things.

And, join me for our upcoming The Road to a 6 & 7-Figure Business workshop on 14 March.

Normally $97, your ticket is free when you join today.

If you avoid sounding salesy or pushy, so you don't speak up about your business — this episode is for you. Every day I see women missing out on new clients because they don't know how to speak up about their business. So, they:
  • Post on social media hoping that people will look, comment and buy
  • Spend a ton of money on a website, but we don't have the traffic, so the site doesn't do the job of converting visitors into clients.
  • They are left paying for ads to promote courses, lead magnets, online challenges… and burning a hole in their pockets.
In this episode, I'm giving you access to the secret sauce that has helped so many of our HerBusiness Network members get new clients and ultimately grow more profitable, sustainable businesses without the overwhelm and without having to spend a dollar.

When you use this four-part system, you'll be in the perfect position to land your next client without it feeling awkward trying to explain what you do or speaking up to let people know about your excellent products or services.

And, join me for our upcoming Get New Clients Coaching Week from 7-11 March 2022.

I'll coach you through my go-to blueprint for landing your next client without having to cold call; even if you don't have an email list, you find it hard to explain what you do, or you find yourself backing away from asking for the sale.

Click here to join me at Coaching Week.

By the end of this coaching week, you'll know how to find the right people and speak confidently about your business without feeling like you're being salesy.

Every day in business we are trying to get people to say yes. Yes to our offers
Yes to joining our team
Yes to taking up that discovery call
Yes to clicking the button on our website
Yes to our proposals
Yes to our invitations to collaborate.

What if there were seven ethical and proven ways to persuade people to move in your direction… to say YES to you?

The good news is that these seven principles exist and they are all part of Dr Robert Cialdini’s 7 influence principles, which he first wrote about over 30 years ago in his book Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion, a book that has been translated into 44 different languages.

Today you are in for a treat.

Because Dr Cialdini is my guest.

We are talking about:

  • How the internet has changed the ways that we can influence, and how to harness online opportunities to have people say yes to you
  • Where to put your testimonials in order for them to make the most impact to your results
  • Why giving and being generous FIRST positions you to be more persuasive
  • The surprising question to ask clients to get their best feedback (without asking them for feedback or opinions) - this is a game-changer for your surveys
  • The ‘magic’ number of fields to use in your online forms to get more people completing them
  • Why limited quantity offers are more effective than limited-time offers
  • And a whole lot more
