If you were to be bolder in 2020 than you were in 2019, what would you do?

What gutsy goals would you set?

Each year I ask our HerBusiness Network members to consider this question as we get to the end of a year.

And, this is a question that I too have asked myself for many years.

At the start of 2019 members listed Bold Goals like:

  • Launch a new course
  • Write an e-book
  • Create a debt-collection app
  • Get paid to speak
  • Take my family on a Holiday
  • Embrace success in all forms
  • Travel more
  • Being less involved in the day-to-day customer service
  • Get more reliable leads from an existing database
  • I will have built my business enough to be able to quit my job of 15 years!
  • Be SEEN. Get on video more (especially live videos).
  • Complete my book (which is 1/2 complete).
  • Finalise my divorce. Meet my Life Partner and be pregnant this time next year.

Wow. They were some pretty amazing and bold goals.

Your Bold Goal is your heart speaking what it wants.

When you set that Bold Goal (even if you’re too afraid to verbalise it) it can make you sweat a little.

That, is an indication that it’s a place that you want to dare to go.

And, with the right support you can step into this bolder way of being.

I truly believe you can achieve anything when you have the right people and resources available to you.

Listen to hear:

  • How having the right people around you gets you closer to your goals faster
  • The book that shows you how to have the ‘stick-with-it-ness’ to get any goals
  • Why mapping out the steps to your goal before you start taking action gets you where you want to go faster, and with less hassle
  • How your habits impact whether or not you actually get your goal
  • Suzi’s scary 2020 Bold Goal ;-)

Ever since I was young, I’ve kept a journal. There were years where I religiously spilled my guts into a journal, my first romances, my deepest worries, my concerns.

Then, for many years I did not write. Many years. Like most of my 20s and part of my 30s.

Today I write daily. It’s become a habit that I’m keen to keep up. One that I make a priority each morning, before I dive into my day.

Here’s why...

About 20 years ago I came across Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way and started again, using her guidance, to write regularly. I bought a bunch of her books The Sound of Paper, The Artist’s Way at Work… and I ate them up.

I was in my late 20s and early 30s and so much was changing about my life I needed an outlet.

I was in my own business and there was a lot of confusion about what I was doing and where I was going. And it really helped.

In this episode I explain how I recently rediscovered the power of a daily journaling habit and how I got past the concern of not having anything to write or say.

Listen to hear:

  • How to start a daily journal
  • How a daily habit clears out the ‘junk file in your head
  • What to write about
  • How to get started even if you don’t consider yourself a write
  • Why taking pen to paper “primes the pump and the flow of ideas begins to move”

Regardless of what sort of results we are looking for, when we don’t go after a specific outcome, when we don’t have a definite idea of what we are trying to achieve… how can we know if we are successful?

We have unlimited options to be, do and have what we want in life and business, including:

How we spend our time

How we build our business

The products and services that we provide

Who we serve as customers

Who we surround ourselves with - our peers, mentors, teachers

These unlimited choices can leave us making no choice, for fear of making the wrong choice.

Or, we hold back simply because we haven’t identified the power of being ‘definite with the infinite’.

Listen to hear:

  • Insights about business from an unlikely source
  • Why being definite brings about all sort of support for your visions
  • The types of situations in business you want to be specific about
  • How adding a number to your goals makes them more real
  • How one woman went from a standing start to $10K a month in sales by being definite
  • The difference between being definite and being unrealistic
