Why did you start your business?

Was it for financial freedom, freedom of time or because you simply don’t like being told what to do?

Whatever your reason, one of the advantages of starting a business and becoming a business owner is that you can create wealth. You can generate as much income as you want, and it can come through your business.

An important question is:

Are you self-employed or are you a business owner?

Because there is a difference, and this difference has a big impact on whether you achieve the goals you set out to meet in the first place.

And, if the money side of your business is worrying you, it’s definitely possible to put those worries to rest and never lose sleep over money again.

Take Charge Today

In this interview with Kim Kiyosaki, a world-renowned speaker, entrepreneur and author of Rich Woman: Take Charge of your Money: Take Charge of Your Life!, you’ll learn the difference between being self-employed and being a business owner — and why it matters.

Hear Kim talk about why women-owned businesses grow slower than those owned by men and what you can do to accelerate your business growth.

Listen to this episode to hear:

  • Why women-owned businesses fail to grow
  • The difference between being self-employed and a business owner, and why it matters

When we play the comparison game in business, it only leads to frustration and disappointment.

So what can you do to stay mentally strong when self-doubt creeps in?

Any time we step outside of our comfort zone, we are vulnerable to failure, to criticism, to falling flat on our face.

These feelings are made worse when we also start comparing our success and our progress with that of others.

We look at someone’s successful sales promotion and maybe we feel bad about our sales.

We look at their gazillion followers they have on social media and feel horrible about our small audience.

We see them getting opportunity after opportunity and deem ourselves not as good.

What’s wrong with me? We might ask.

Or, maybe we feel great for them.

We are happy to celebrate their success.

And while we are celebrating them, we still ask: “Why can’t I have that level of success?”

If you’ve felt that way, you’re not alone.

Listen to hear:

  • Why nothing compares to you
  • How to move past the comparison game
  • Why your unique talents and strengths might be being diminished
  • The power of real statistics to show you your progress
  • How to move from self-doubt into action and reflection

Maybe you created a great plan for this year.

Maybe you were one of the business owners who, like me, made grand plans, mapping out the whole year’s activities and promotions.

Maybe COVID 19 turned things upside down for you.

The live event that you were doing has been postponed or cancelled.

Your piano-teaching school or your yoga studio had to close down for a while.

You’ve had the kids at home and so it’s been hard to focus on anything.

I think we are all going to be stronger and better for what we’ve recently experienced.

Our capacity and abilities as businesswomen expanded.

Now, it’s time to start to dream about what we want business to look like the next six months.

If we wait till all restrictions are lifted we’ll be late off the blocks.

So today is the day to start making some new plans.

And, I have some tips for you.

Listen to hear

  • Why your personal goals should precede your business goals
  • The eight essential areas of business that create stability and sustainability
